Unlimited and Beyond...

So what's the whole idea beyond the title of my blog page? Unlimited and Beyond is a belief system...its an idea...a concept...and if you're strong and willing enough, a way of life. It's the belief that you have NO limitations. Its the idea of defying the odds and setting high(er) standards. Its the concept of breaking past society's "norms" to achieve something greater. And if you are like me, it's a way of life...
I'm very rarely asked if I'm a religious person or if I believe in some higher entity which most call "God". If asked the former, I'd be tempted to respond, "Yes...I'm unlimited. That's my religion." Kinda sounds odd to the average person and I really don't need to get THAT intense in verbally explaining my beliefs, which is why I said I'd be TEMPTED to respond (author's note: I love using quotes and capitalizing words which I'm emphasizing, so get used to it. My blog, my rules...no college English in here, though I will try my best to use proper grammar and punctuation to the extent of not making the most tedious writers and authors cringe. end note...) So back to my little discussion about religion. I already mentioned that I would be motivated to respond yes to someone asking if I were religious. What is religion really? In my opinion, it's nothing more than a belief system with certain rules which SHOULD exist to enhance an individual or group's outlook on life in addition to making them happy, secure and blah blah blah, you get it...My point is I consider this unlimited thinking to be like a religion, in that having this sort of belief makes ME a better, stronger and more unique person.
In case I've lost the reader at this point, which I probably have since I have a tendency to go on and on about a subject and end up straying from the point, I was saying earlier that I also rarely get asked if I believe this higher being many refer to as "God". My response to this? Without hesitation "I don't believe in God, I believe myself..." (author's note: I LOVE the infamous "dot dot dot" also, so get used to it. end note... :D) Again the second part of that response I'd probably refrain from saying, because I've learned to not press my ideas upon someone else so forcefully. Believe me, I used to be PRETTY close-minded, but I'm getting better and better at it. Someone very knowledgeable, whom I've gained a great deal of respect for in such little time, recently pointed out to me that I would be in fact limiting myself by only acknowledging MY "religious" beliefs and discarding anyone else's beliefs (e.g. Catholicism, Buddhism, other "ism"s"). But still, and without turning this into a religious debate, I strongly believe that belief in oneself is truly what people are looking for when turning to other idols, entities or higher beings as a form of worship.
So returning to the concept of being unlimited and my blog page title, there is not much more to say about the topic but at the same time there is everything more to say...I have no limits. And neither do you regardless of what you think. I will always push myself beyond my limitations to set that new standard...and then go even beyond that, (hence, unlimited AND beyond) and so should all of you in whatever you are pursuing.
And there you have it...my intro and now, my philosophy and intentions have been established. From here on it's just whatever. But that's the point of blogs. Isn't it? I'm going to end this post on a more significant question though--one which will make you ponder, stroke your chin, look to the ceiling/sky/stalactites, and go "hmmmm".
Think you're unlimited? (cue the pondering, chin stroking, looking, and "hmm"ing)
